Anger Management Classes

We offer  Adult  and Adolescent Anger Management groups which explore the process and consequences of expressing anger.  Participants are taught positive coping and communication skills to help them express their anger in more constructive and appropriate ways.  Emphasis is placed on self control and acceptance of responsibility for feelings and behaviors.  Through education and therapeutic techniques, participants can learn ways to cope with anger in a non-violent manner.

We offer weekly classes and intensive weekend classes.

Topics discussed include:

    • Learning about feelings

    • Cognitive behavioral tools for managing anger

    • Better communication skills

    • Cognitive resolution skills

    • Non-violence as a healthy alternative

    • How to “act rather than react”

    • Increasing problem-solving skills

PLEASE NOTE:

ANGER MANAGEMENT EDUCATION IS NOT EQUIVALENT TO TREATMENT FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
